The Bodhana Yoga School program features two tracks of study so that you can tailor your experience to your own unique goals.

Our next Bodhana Yoga School Teacher Training program begins in September 2012.

This program is NOW APPROVED as a 200-hour Registered Yoga School through the Yoga Alliance.

The Teacher Training Program is designed as a series of  weekend workshops over the course of 8 months (1 weekend per month).   Part of what makes our program special is that we have an anatomy expert as our director.  Cat Matlock is sought in yoga and massage schools for her profound understanding of the body and how it moves and how to prevent injury.  There is a strong emphasis on anatomy and relief of chronic pain so that you can really help your students, and yourself, practice safely without harm.

You will emerge a certified Bodhana Yoga instructor with the ability to teach Vinyasa (or Flow) Yoga, Bodhana Yoga, Yoga Basics and Gentle Yoga classes. Topics of study include:

  • Cultivating a Daily Practice
  • Anatomy
  • Alignment Principals of Anusara Yoga
  • Yoga Therapeutics for common pain
  • The Art of Sequencing – Designing Great Yoga Classes
  • Hands-on Assisting
  • Modifications and Techniques for specific physical conditions
  • Voice projection and getting comfortable leading classes
  • What to look for when you’re looking at your students
  • Nada Yoga / Kirtan
  • Intro to Sanskrit
  • Yoga Philosophy  & Ancient Wisdom (Yoga Sutra, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Bhagavad Gita, etc)
  • Mantra
  • Pranayama
  • Meditation
