Stephanie Johnson
When she took her first teacher training in at the Sivananda Ashram in the Bahamas, Stephanie discovered there was a whole world of yoga beyond her experience on the mat. When she was began practicing in the Jivamukti lineage, she learned the surprising power of surrender, bhakti and service. And when she was introduced to Tibetan Heart Yoga, the magic of devoting yourself to a teacher was revealed.
Stephanie is honored to have received the blessings to pass on the lineages of Jivamukti Yoga, Tibetan Heart Yoga and Restorative Yoga. She offers infinite gratitude to each of her precious teachers. It is the greatest honor to be able to pass to on what her own teachers have given her: a clear and direct means for lasting personal transformation and effective change at the most profound level. Stephanie came to the practice of yoga through a lifelong study of art, movement and music. It is through these heart disciplines that she endeavors to cultivate physical and energetic awareness infused with grace, healing and a connection to the Divine. Her classes are at once challenging and inspiring, transformative and empowering – moving meditations perfect for tapping into the roots of the practice: kindness, compassion and deep wisdom.
Originally from Canada, Stephanie recently moved from Michigan with her husband, Michael, to North Carolina where they continue to be both inspired and delighted by the beautiful Asheville community where they now both continue to teach joyfully.
